Stereotypes

Never heard of it? Well, from my understanding, stereotype is like popular belief regarding specific type of individuals or groups or in the other words, prejudice. Its like a simplified version of people judgement upon the group or individual. Examples; This group is lazy, the other group is hardworking, that person is a this and that group is this and that. For the targeted group or individual who know that its not true and some of the victim consider it as slander or defamation, might lead to fight or mistrust but not all stereotypes are bad. Some of them are good and might increase self esteem of self confidence.

One of the pretty common stereotype

is she a terrorist?

Japanese Independent Animation

Just want to share with you guys. I stumbled upon a video clip from this japanese independent animation thingie. The animation was amazing. using only pencils and charcoals to make this animation a reality. The animation is about (my interpretation) and industrial era where polution is heavy, trees being cut down and there are fifures coming out from the sand. I regard that as a group of people who against this heavy industrial polution. One by one is shredded by industrialist and only one manage to reach the destination and flowers blooming whole over the industrial area. At the end of the video there's a human and a robot holding hand, telling us that we can be develop without destroying the nature.

Group task

Our task is about what's the role of Creative Multimedia in Education. Its a pretty tough topic for me. Creative + Multimedia + Education might be easy. But Creative Multimedia in Education is a broad topic. We know our educational systems and methodology is based on science stream, literature stream and accountancy stream (i think) but creative multimedia stream? that will be revolutionary. In middle school usually science stream is the most appeal for student and usually the have the most students in the stream. From my experience, some of them aplly into this science field because of parents, appeal and job prospects but at the same time they are confused and still searching for what they want. Im from science stream and i knw how it feels. Hope i can contribute more with the group

Exquisite Corpse

Hmm...... face of an animal, body of a.... loverboy? and a... pair of normal legs with large trousers? Ok my interpretation might be... this living thing likes to make love but the expression is not there. He/She/It might have some difficulties in searching for mates (if there's any). He/She/It i think is pretty introvert from the way he stand. Or maybe this is just one of the metaphores. He's a human with a head of an animal.. means he cant think properly.. bleh... blame my poor analytical skills

what i learn during Juxtaposition class

Juxtaposition is .. well i can say quite interesting. We use 2 different objects and combine into one to create a meaning. At first i was totally confused with this topic and it gives me a hard time to digest in my mind. Even in the class i have this tendency not to involve with the learning process due to the confusion (also noticed that i also do not know what to ask).

Pretty interesting isn't it?

I wonder who's the designer behind this idea... hm..

Juxtaposition

I know its a bit late to update my blogs (because i hate blogging). So this is what I understand about juxtaposition.

Juxtaposition =

Noun1.juxtaposition - the act of positioning close together (or side by side); "it is the result of the juxtaposition of contrasting colors"
locating, positioning, emplacement, location, placement, position - the act of putting something in a certain place
tessellation - the careful juxtaposition of shapes in a pattern; "a tessellation of hexagons"

2.juxtaposition - a side-by-side position
position, place - the particular portion of space occupied by something; "he put the lamp back in its place"

taken from http://www.thefreedictionary.com/juxtaposition

So from my understanding, juxtaposition is like two random objects moving in parallel, a technique intended to stimulate creativity or putting two different things that is somewhat unrelated to create something that is creative. For example

a car is somewhat positioned towards the sky and a building

a banana or a toothpaste? or both; banana toothpaste?

Lateral Thinking

Lateral thinking in my opinion is problem solving skill that use creative and indirect approach, which is for me is interesting. This kind of thinking use reasoning that is not immediately obvious and involving ideas or ways that is not available through the traditional logic way.

This kind of thought is related to insight, creativity and humour. Its like spontaneous thinking without using the old thinking way method. Some logical person will be hard to understand this kind of group because of their logical minds and only applies logic

Mind Map

I was absent during this week :(

According to my research and some of my knowledge about Mind Map, it consists two types; Logical Mind Map and Creative Mind Map.

From my understanding, logical mind map consists logical connected points such as mortal and pestle for example. The points that involve are used for cooking, making sambal or anything logically related. Creative mind map on the other hand is pretty unique. The last point will not be the same as the first point. Lets take again mortal and pestle --> stone --> black --> nothingness. See the nothingness does not even related to mortal and pestle logically but it will give some people an unique meaning.

Logical mind map is for us the find a solution or ways (converge) while creative mind map is to diverge. Its like we seek for possibilities and narrow it into 1 solution.
